The Uniden MHS050-2 VHF Marine Radio Set is submersible and waterproof to JIS8 levels. It features a floating and lightweight design with a built-in antenna with precision matched for optimum performance. It has US, Canada, and International marine channels where you can communicate on preprogrammed marine VHF channels. It has a large backlit channel display that is easy to read and a battery level indicator where you can view the 12-hour rechargeable NiMH battery strength to see if it needs recharging or not. There is 3 level digital squelch and a triple watch mode where you can monitor channels 16 and 9 simultaneously for a signal while at the same time allowing you to listen to the selected channel. Another feature is the one-touch channel 16/9 for quick access to the emergency channels. It has memory scan that scans programmed channels into the memory and it comes with a table-top drop-in charger. To conserve power automatically when not in use, there is a battery save option as well. You can use the keypad lock to lock the keypad to avoid accidentally pressing the keys.
